Preparation is Key to a Successful Home Remodeling Project

At Eden Construction, we are very used to the home remodeling process. However, we recognize that many of the homeowners we work with have never experienced a large-scale home remodeling project before. We know that proper preparation is key to a successful project, so we want to help you be prepared and know what to expect before we start working in your beloved living spaces.

Communication is key before, during and even after home remodeling. We encourage you to make sure that all your contact information on file is accurate, including phone numbers and emails. We want you to be able to ask any questions you may have or to check in with us as needed during the project. We will make sure that you understand and approve the schedule ahead of time, as well as keeping those lines of communication open so we can let you know about any surprise changes or delays that may occur.

Here are some things you can do to help prepare for your home remodeling project and make sure it is a major success:

  • Clear the driveway: We may need space to store materials, park trucks or even to place a dumpster temporarily.
  • Plan a traffic pattern: We will need access to the workspace and a plan for how we will enter and exit the space.
  • Clear the project space (and adjacent spaces): Furniture, accessories and other possessions will need to be removed from the project area. Items like artwork and mirrors should be removed from adjacent walls to prevent damage through vibrations.
  • Keep children and pets safe—Keep pets and children out of our workspace while our crews work.

With proper preparation and planning, your home remodeling can go more smoothly and cause less disruption in your daily life. For major projects, it may be best to plan on spending some time elsewhere as well to reduce your stress and inconvenience.
